Health experts around the world are warning that the COVID-19 might be here to stay, but with vaccinations it’s likely that it won’t always be a deadly plague.
It’s quite possible that the COVID-19 virus could become an endemic disease. An endemic disease is one that is continually spreading, very similar to seasonal illnesses like the flu. However, in the years to come, children will more than likely develop some immunity to it. As people continue to age, this immunity will help protect them from the disease developing into more serious and/or fatal issues.
But epidemiologists are still stressing the critical importance of having a plan of action for deadly viruses that could (and will) pop up in the future. If the world would have been more proactive with COVID-19, there is a great chance that the virus would not have spread as fast as it did and ultimately would not have caused so much panic and destruction.
